Thanks to local Councillors in Campden Ward, RBKC and Heritage London, the Temperance Fountain that has stood on the High Street, opposite the Tube Station for 124 years has been restored and thanks to Thames Water is also now dispensing fresh water.
The original fountain was erected by the St Mary Abbots branch of the Church of England Temperance Society.
Thanks to meticulous renovation work by Heritage London and then extensive re-plumbing by Thames Water, the fountain is now supplying fresh water to people on Kensington High Street, Water bottles can now just be re-filled from the fountain.
A formal re-dedication event will be held later in the year involving local schoolchildren, who have been involved in this local history project.
