Blackball Starbucks, Costa, McDonalds
The business of local, independently owned cafes and restaurants have been devastated by an incoherent government strategy.
When this lockdown ends most will end up on their knees never to rise again.
For Starbucks, it will be a time to celebrate the demolition of small competitors aided and abetted by this government.
With billions behind them, they can run at a loss for years squeezing out the ‘little people’ competition.
The several outlets they run in K&C will boom.
Starbucks’ UK-based European business paid just £18.3m in tax last year while paying the parent company in Seattle £348m in dividends collected from licensing its brand.
Costa, McDonald’s also use their power to manipulate tax due: most using EU tax-avoiding entities.
So, if we love our community we should hate Starbucks and be locally loyal.
